- He has loved maps (geography) since he was a small child and spent about 2 hours looking at a map book every day. He majored in geography at university and made it his major. On weekdays, he is engaged in advisory and consulting services related to the planning and implementation of corporate real estate strategies at a trust bank.
- There was one more thing he loved as much as maps and geography. The piano. Among the toys his parents gave him, he showed a strong interest in mini pianos, so they bought him one when he was four years old.
- He clearly remembers the day the piano arrived at their house and the tuner tuned it. He was standing by the piano and watching it being tuned. When the tuner finished tuning the piano and asked him to play some notes, he was pleasantly surprised. This was the starting point of his fascination with the piano.
- Time flew by, and at the age of 27, just as he was beginning to enjoy my work, he was diagnosed with skin cancer and ulcerative colitis, a specific disease (certified as intractable). From then until his early 30s, he spent his entire life commuting to a university hospital. However, medical technology is ever-evolving. Thanks to new drugs, he was able to have more time to spare, as he only had to go to the hospital once every two months for an intravenous infusion, instead of the twice-weekly visits and white blood cell removal treatment that he used to have in the beginning.
- A large amount of public funds are invested in the treatment of specific diseases. He wished to repay this favor to society in some way. He strongly felt this way.
- It is a matter of course to contribute to society through geography and real estate work, to earn income and pay taxes. If possible, he wished to work in a new field by adding something or multiplying....
- However, even if it is a new field, it will take time to start from scratch.... When he thought about this, what came to mind was the field of music, which he had been working on since childhood, using maps, geography, and multiple lines.
- The world was undergoing a wave of reform in the way we work. He was beginning to feel that he wanted to resume piano lessons, which he had taken from kindergarten until college. Trying to be honest about his feelings, he decided to take a private trial lesson at a music school located at the station next to his office on his way home from work. When he played in front of the teacher and told him that he wanted to rehabilitate himself on the piano, the teacher made it clear: “As long as you are talking about rehabilitation, you are not in a good position. The teacher said, “You will never improve while you are talking about rehabilitation. You have to set a clear goal and practice day by day, working backwards.
- From there, weekly lessons began. The lessons, which involved a more rigorous PDCA cycle than his day job, were shocking, but he felt he was making progress, and he even gained the byproduct of being more productive at work. One day in the lesson, the teacher gave him an assignment: “You should take the entrance exam for music school. He had never thought of that as an option before, but it was a very clear goal. In the spring of the following year, he decided to attend music school for a year while working.
- He rented a house four doors down from the gates of the college, practiced piano every morning in the practice room of the college before going to work, and practiced at night after work until the practice room closed. The theme of “support for musicians' activities” was formulated from the days of nightly music discussions with current music students who were also practicing until the gates closed.
- In the Corona disaster, they decided to do what they could do because of the Corona disaster, so they rented various music halls that had suddenly become available due to cancelled performances, practiced listening to the sound of the piano in the hall with the music students, purchased recording equipment, and engaged in filming and live distribution. They also support the establishment of NPOs, etc.
• He came to Osaka in 2022 due to a transfer from his day job. Osaka (Keihanshin) is a very large metropolitan area, the second largest in Japan and the 14th largest in the world.
- He wished to work on something new in the field of music and piano here in Osaka. It was with this in mind that he met the members of the PSO.
- They have been enjoying theirdiscussions like a session every time they work on this project. He is excited to be able to create something new here in Osaka. - Above all, theyare looking forward to the chemistry with the scholars they will meet in the future.
